Trick or treat! Halloween is the perfect time to treat you with this tiny scary house pattern. This house is open at the back for easy playing, and it has a basement for an extra scary element. This free pattern is written in UK English. The pattern is also available in paid pdf format with detailed pictures and both in UK and US terminology on Etsy and Ravelry.

TENSION
Work 36dc and 62 rows to measure 8x13cm or 3.5×4.1in using 1.25mm hook, or size required to obtain tension.
MEASUREMENTS
The house measures approximately 16x12x25cm/ 6.3×4.7×9.8in (LxWXH)
PATTERN NOTES
Use stitch marker to mark beginning of rnds.
Unless stated otherwise, work into both loops of stitch.
Pieces in the round are worked in a continuous spiral.

Place Outer and Inner pieces together WS facing each other.
Insert cardboard figure X and sew together.
Door
With yarn A, 33ch.
Row 1: (RS) 1dc from second ch from hook and in each ch to end, turn – 32dc.
Rows 2-15: 1ch, 32dc, turn.
Change to yarn E.
After Row 15 do not turn. Dc around as folls:
Rnd 16: 1ch, 15dc on each row end, 1dc on corner, 32dc, 1dc in next corner, 15dc on each row end, 1dc on corner, 32dc, 1dc in first ch of rnd – 98dc.
Fasten off and weave in end.
Join yarn E in first st between Row 5 and 6 with slst through piece and slst in each st to end. Rep between Row 11 and 12.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
For the inner side Rep Row 1-Rnd 16 in yarn E.
Place Outer and Inner pieces together WS facing each other.
Insert one piece of 3.5x7cm / 1.4×2.8in cardboard and sew together.
Sew door to Front.
Window Frame
This piece you will need in case fabric seam is showing in the corners. Otherwise, this step can be skipped.
With yarn G, 56ch.
Rnd 1: 1dc in first ch and in each of next 8ch, 3dc in next ch, 17dc, 3dc in next ch, 9dc, 3dc in next ch, 17dc, 3dc in last ch – 64dc.
Fasten off, leaving tail to sew to sew to inner side of window.
Short Board
Make two
Starting with a tail for sewing, 16ch with yarn K.
Row 1: 1dc from second ch from hook and in each ch to end, turn – 15dc.
Row 2: 1ch, 15dc, turn.
Fasten off, leaving tail to sew to window .
Long Board
Starting with a tail for sewing, 16ch with yarn K.

Finishing
Sew each Roof part to Front, placing pieces flat as on picture below with yarn F.

Sew to Floor.
Sew House to Basement/Stairs with yarn G.
Small Pumpkin
With yarn I, 13ch.
Row 1: 1slst from second ch from hook, 2dc, 6htr, 2dc, 1slst, turn – 12sts.
Rows 2-24: 1ch, 1slst, 2dc, 6htr, 2dc, 1slst.
Fold piece in half and slst both ends together with slsts.
Stem
With yarn L, 5ch.
Row 1: 1dc from second ch from hook and in each ch to end, turn – 4dc.
Fasten off, leaving tail to sew to top of pumpkin.
Make another the same in yarn J.
Big Pumpkin
With yarn I, 21ch.
Row 1: 1slst from second ch from hook, and in next st, 4dc, 8htr, 4dc, 2slst, turn – 20sts.
Rows 2-36: 1ch, 2slst, 4dc, 8htr, 4dc, 2slst.
Fold piece in half and slst both ends together with slsts.
Stem
With yarn L, 7ch.
Row 1: 1htr from second ch from hook and in next st, 2dc, 2slst – 6sts.
Fasten off, leaving tail to sew to top of pumpkin.
Broom
With yarn L, 24ch.
Row 1: (WS) From second ch from hook, 23dc, turn – 23dc.
Rows 2-3: ch1, 23dc, turn.
Fold piece in half lengthways and insert 5cm/2in wire.
Row 4: 1ch, 1sl st in each st across, working through both sts of Rows 3 & 1 to join piece tog – 23slsts.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Cut 25cm/9.8in of yarn K.
Wrap yarn L around index finger until desired thickness for a broom and tie together with yarn K.
Wrap around top of yarn L and on broom stick.

Stuff as you make.
With yarn M start with tail, make adjustable ring.
Rnd 1: 6dc in ring – 6dc.
Rnd 2: 2dc in each dc around – 12dc.
