E-books are super space friendly, however at the end I do prefer a book I can leaf through pages. Plus, with this super cute bookmark you cannot resist to grab your book and continue where you have left.
MATERIALS
- Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat (100% Mercerised Cotton; 25g/140m)
Yarn A: #749 Pink x 1 ball
Yarn B: #106 Snow White x 1 ball
Yarn C: #281 Tangerine x 1 ball
- 1.25mm crochet hook
- 1x stitch marker
TENSION
Tension is not important for this project.
MEASUREMENTS
The bookmarker measures 3,5 x 8cm (1,4 x 3in).
PATTERN NOTES
Use stitch marker to mark beginning of rnd.
Unless stated otherwise, work into both loops of stitch.
Pieces in the round are worked in a continuous spiral.
Change colour on last pull through of last stitch in previous colour.

Make two
With Yarn A, 9ch.
Rnd 1: (RS) Starting in second ch from hook, 7dc, 2dc in next st, cont on other side of ch, 7ch, 2dc in next st – 18dc.
Rnd 2: 8dc, 3tr in next st, 8dc, (1tr, 1dc) in next st – 21sts.
Change to yarn B.
Row 3: [2dc blo, 2dc blo in next st] three times, 1htr blo, 3htr blo in next st, 1htr blo, [2dc blo in next st, 2dc blo] three times – 29sts.
Row 4: [2dc in next st, 3dc] three times, 2dc, 2dc in next st, 2dc, [3dc, 2dc in next st], sl st to first st.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
EAR OUTER PART
Make two
With Yarn B, ch9.
Rnd 1: (RS) Starting in second ch from hook, 7dc, 2dc in next st, cont on other side of ch, 7ch, 2dc in next st – 18dc.
Rnd 2: 8dc, 3tr in next st, 8dc, (1tr, 1dc) in next st – 21sts.
Row 3: [2dc, 2dc in next st] three times, 1htr, 3htr in next st, 1htr, [2dc in next st, 2dc] three times – 29sts.
Row 4: [2tr in next st, trdc] three times, 2tr, 2tr in next st, 2tr, [3tr, 2tr in next st], sl st to first st.
Fasten off but do not finish off.
Place inner and outer sides with wrong sides facing each other, sl st around in all lps to join both parts. Fasten off, leaving tail to sew to carrot.
CARROT
With yarn C, 2ch.
Row 1: (RS) 2dc in second ch from hook, turn – 2dc.
Row 2 1ch, 2dc, turn.
Row 3: 1ch, 2dc in each of next 2 sts, turn – 4dc.
Rows 4 & 5: 1ch, 4dc, turn.
Row 6: 1ch, 2dc in next st, 2dc, 2dc in next st, turn – 6dc.
Rows 7-9: 1ch, 6dc, turn.
Row 10: 1ch, 2dc in next st, 2dc, 4dc in next st, turn – 8dc.
Rows 11-14: 1ch, 8dc, turn.
Row 15: 1ch, 2dc in next st, 2dc, 6dc in next st, turn – 10dc.
Rows 16-20: Ch1, 10dc, turn
Row 21: 1ch, 2dc in next st, 2dc, 8dc in next st, turn – 12dc.
Rows 22-27: 1ch, 12dc, turn.
Row 28: 1ch, dc2tog, 8dc, dc2tog – 10dc.
After Row 28 do not turn, work around piece as folls:
Round 29: 1ch, 28slst in each row end, 1slst on cnr, 28slst in each row end, 10slst on last row, 1slst in first ch.
Fasten of and weave in end.
FINISHING
Pinch ear at yarn end together and secure point with a few stitches. Rep for other ear, then sew both points together. Sew ears at center of last row of carrot.
